An eventful evening

I went to Huntsville with Christiana this morning. She just had to go pay her tuition, so it was a quick trip. At 6 me and my dad went and met Ellis, Caleb, and Abby Olsen at the lake. This is where the fun began. We launched our jet ski last and it wouldn't start. We had to pull the car up and jump it off from the car. Well that didn't work, so we jumped it off from Caleb's jet ski. I had to get on because once it started my dad couldn't stop to pick me up. He started it and Caleb had to jerk the jumper cables off before we rode away (since we couldn't stop to let him take them off). Well we rode and my dad started doing donuts. After about 3 of them I finally flew off. I unfortunately lost my favorite sunglasses and the bandana I had in my hair. I have another pair of sunglasses just like it, but they are messed up. Oh well. I was floating in the water waiting to get back on, but my dad couldn't stop the jet ski because it would die again. I had to just grab onto it while he rode by and pull myself up. That was fun. I had to do it again later too. When we were loading them back up Ellis realized he had locked his keys in his truck. My dad tried to open it with a coat hanger, but it didn't work. Anyway, that's about all that happened. I had a lot of fun.

Relief...sort of

Well, I finished my calculus class. I should be very relieved, but now I have to wait on my grade. So, all of you who were praying for me...keep praying.

I went to the youth service at church last night because Caleb was preaching. He did an amazing job. I was very impressed. The band has gotten really good too. I'm really glad I went.

Right now I'm waiting on Casey to get ready so I can take her school clothes shopping. Somehow this job got passed onto me. My mom really, really hates going to Humble. Lucky me.

Procrastination Rules

So I decided to take my calculus final exam on Thursday instead of tomorrow. I'm hoping that one more day of studying will help a little bit. Hopefully it will help enough to make up for prolonging my suffering for 24 more hours.

A Dedication

This post is a dedication to all my friends that I gripe to. You know who you are. Thank you for listening.

P.S. - I'm extremely worried about calculus. Please pray for me.

"I Just Crashed A Funeral"

Yesterday we celebrated my Nana's 60th birthday by going on an afternoon dinner cruise on a paddleboat called the Southern Empress that is docked at Del Lago. My first cousin twice removed (as my mother informed me) and her husband came from Louisiana for it. It turned out pretty good. Last night me and Christiana went to Humble and ate at Olive Garden and then watched Wedding Crashers. We got front row parking at Olive Garden and then got our meal really fast. Then, we got a parking spot under the theatre at the mall. The movie was really funny too. It was just a really good night.

All With a Terrible Headache

Today I did a bunch of stuff. I took a calculus test, which wasn't horrible, but that's not saying much. My mom made me put together a bunch of mail outs for her and mail them. I also got my oil changed and tires rotated. Then me and my family ran to Wal-Mart to get a few things for the lake house before we drove out there again. I haven't been to Wal-Mart with my whole family in years! Once we got there I remembered why. I'm sure y'all understand. We went to the lake house and stayed until 11:30, all the while fighting and complaining. The lake house looks good though. I did this stuff today (and didn't get my now habitual afternoon nap) all with a terrible headache. How pleasant.

Beginning of the End

It's the beginning of the end in two senses. First, we are very close to being done with the lake house. We have put some of the furniture in it already. We went earlier to look at it and it looks really good. I wish I had pictures to post of it. I'm sure I will soon enough. Second, my second to last calculus test is tomorrow. Then, I have to take the final at the end of next week and I'll be done!! I think I only need to make a 55 on both of those tests to pass. I know that sounds pathetically easy, but you'd be surprised.

Summer in a Nutshell

I've been living at home this summer, jobless unfortunately. Here are the highlights of my summer so far...
~Memorial Day Weekend: Me and Christiana went to the lake with my family. It rained most of the weekend. It cleared up right before we left and I was able to give Christiana her first jet ski ride. I managed to flip the jet ski, ruin my cell phone, and almost ruin hers. It was fun. Sorry about that Christiana!
~Lake House: We're building a lake house on Lake Livingston in Cape Royale. I've spent a lot of time shopping for stuff for it. It's almost done after 14 months of sporadic construction.
~July 4th Weekend: Me and Christiana went to the lake with my family again. We convinced Ellen to have her going away/birthday party at the lake. Me, Christiana, Ellen, Travis, Heather, and Jonathan went out on Heather's boat to watch the fireworks all around the lake. It was cool. We then popped fireworks and had a cake for Ellen. We rode the jet ski a lot too (without any mishaps this time). It stormed really, really bad again and made the canopy on the camper collapse in the middle of the night. The weekend was still good, despite the rain.
~Houston: The day before Ellen left for Oxford (the day of the London bombings) Me, Heather, Jonathan, Ellen, and Christiana went to see the Menil Collection in Houston and then ate at Katz's. It was her second going away party.
~Austin: This past Saturday and Sunday me and Christiana went to Austin to meet my new roommate. She seems pretty nice. I showed Christiana around campus and Austin. We decided to eat at El Arroyo (mentioned in Pat Green's 'Carry On'). It was great. Now I know why he sang about it! We also watched the Congress Ave. Bridge bats and went to the top of the UT tower.
~Last, but not least, all this happened while I was taking Calculus 2 at Montgomery. I now only have 6 days left (but also 2 tests). I realized the other day that these two calculus classes have been conciously weighing on my mind since I was a junior in high school. I'll be incredibly glad when they are over.

In the beginning...

Ok. So I got sick of updating my journal on my website because it's a hassle and it takes a long time. I need to spend more time studying and doing other productive things and less time messing with my computer anyway, so this is my solution. I guess I'll see if it works when I go back to school. (Ironically, I created this while I was supposed to be doing calculus.) I don't really like the title I gave my blog (although that's exactly what it will be about) so if anyone has any suggestions please tell me! I haven't been updating my journal over the summer, so I'll give a brief overview thus far in my next post. (Congratulations to Jessy!! He just told me he got into St. Edward's!)
