Back to the Grind

Well I had a great week. The cruise was fun, although our itinerary was changed for the 5th time when we got on the ship. We were supposed to go to Cozumel and Progreso, but we ended up going to Progreso and Vera Cruz. Tropical Storm Gamma was over Cozumel when we left, but by the time we would have been there it was gone. Oh well. It actually worked out for the best because Vera Cruz was awesome! I really want to go there again. I'll post pictures when I get them. It might be awhile though because my mom has them all. Anyway, we got back from the cruise on Thanksgiving afternoon and ate Thanksgiving dinner at Hilltop Herb Farm at Chain-O-Lakes. The food was really good. It was weird going there for Thanksgiving, but it was kinda good because if we had cooked it would have been a disappointment. I was used to eating cruise food, and homemade meals don't compare to food prepared by a chef. I decorated our house for Christmas on Saturday and I just drove back to Austin. So that's a quick summary of my week. Now it's back to the grind.

Your Stupidity Astounds Me

On FOX News this morning there was a woman who thought she shouldn't have to pay the $400 ticket she got for driving in the HOV lane alone because she was pregnant, and since life begins at conception, there were technically two people in the car....as if the baby made a decision that morning to carpool with her to work instead of driving itself because it's worried about cars congesting the highway and polluting the air. Give me a break.

It Is Finished

I finally finished my 10 page internship paper! I don't have any more tests or assignments due before I go on the cruise. I just have to get through the rest of this week and I'll be home free (for a week anyway). I can't wait for this semester to be over. At least it's been quick.

Happy 50th Birthday!!

Today is the 50th Birthday of the "Hook 'Em Horns" hand sign! How awesome is that? There was a big pep rally/celebration on campus tonight. The two men who made up and introduced the sign were actually there. Tomorrow is the last home game. I'm probably going with Jill. I'm excited because I haven't seen her since the beginning of the semester, which is sad since we live one building away from each other. Cleveland is playing in their first play-off game right now. Heather called me and said they were losing 12-35. How sad :( Play-offs were so fun when we were in school. Anyway, we finally found out where we're going on our cruise that we leave for a week from tomorrow. We are still going to Cozumel, but then, instead of going to Calica, we are going to Progreso. It will be fun either way. I have sooo much stuff to do before I leave though. I dread this week.

Productive Weekend

On Friday night I went to Briana's and watched Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion with her and several of her friends. It was fun. On Saturday I started studying. I got so much stuff done on my to do list, which is really good because it was really long at the beginning of the weekend. My reward to myself for getting so much stuff done was not enough sleep last night :( Don't you love it? Anyway, on Saturday night I went to the mall, said hi to Briana because she was working at Old Navy, and then I went on a mission to find a dress for the cruise. I went straight to White House Black Market after talking to Briana and found something on sale for $65. I was so happy. It's not something I would normally buy or wear, so I'm being brave. Briana and my roommate both liked it. Now I just need to go find some gold or silver stilettos to go with it since it's all black. Anyway, that was my weekend. How was yours?

Getting Better

Things with my roommate have improved somewhat. I guess time will tell how this works out. My business law test wasn't too bad yesterday. I was expecting it to be really bad because I didn't study very much (I've said that phrase a whole lot this semester). Hopefully my grade will be better this time. I just registered for classes next semester. I didn't get into any of the sections that I wanted, but I'm ok with my schedule. I'm taking strategic human resources management, leadership issues, individual differences, and industrial psychology. I will probably end up changing them a little bit before the semester starts though. We leave for our cruise in 15 days. I would be excited but, I have to write a 10 page paper for my internship before we leave. We'll be getting back on Thanksgiving morning, which will make this a very different Thanksgiving. We'll probably end up going to the Thanksgiving dinner at Chain O Lakes. Maybe I'll eat more than turkey and rolls this year (for the first time ever) :)
