Christmas Party

My Christmas party last night was so much fun! I made what I thought was too much food, but most of it got eaten because more people showed up than I was expecting. Thank you to the following people for coming: Heather, Jonathan, Christiana, Ellen, Travis, Abby, Veancha, Dominique, Desiree, Brandy, Blake, Bryan, Noel, Matt, Ericka, Jessy, and Amanda. We also went to the Christmas Ranch. I think that will become a tradition. Have a wonderful Christmas everyone!

Funny Stuff on Late Night with Conan O'Brien

Conan: "Santa stopped by. Here he is everyone."
Santa (Indian guy with black beard): "Due to cost-cutting measures Santa's job has been outsourced to India. Now please give me your social security number and mother's maiden name so I can confirm whether you are in the naughty or nice database. Or do you just need help troubleshooting Windows?"

Conan: "I have renamed the 'Christmas Tree' the 'seasonal monochromatic cone-shaped display'. Does THIS name offend anyone?"

Why can't Christmas just be Christmas? MERRY CHRISTMAS!

A Perfect 3.0

...or that's how I like to think of it anyway. I got Bs across the board this semester. I'm actually happy because a couple of those classes could have been Cs. Tomorrow is my last day of work this year and then I get to go home for 2 weeks. I'm having a Christmas party in Cleveland at 7 on Friday. Everyone's invited!

What the heck?!?!

My sister got out of school before I did!!! She finished today and I still have a freaking final tomorrow. That's so screwed up. Colleges are not supposed to get out this late. Heather is still in class too. UT and Lamar will finish on the same day, Dec 21, but Lamar missed a MONTH of class because of the hurricane. I really don't understand. Like I said, I have a final tomorrow, so my evening is ruined by studying. I had my business law final today. I wasn't at all prepared for it, but I only needed a 50 to pass, so I guess it doesn't matter that much. On my operations management final tomorrow I need a 59 to get a B. I think I'll be ok in there too. Right when my final is over I'm going Christmas shopping. Yay!! I just have to get through 3 days of work next week and I'll be home free!! :) If you are in Cleveland between Dec 21 and Jan 4 give me a call.

Awesome Christmas Party

So, last night I went to our Christmas party for work. I had a lot of fun. Yesterday, before the party, I went to the mall and bought a new outfit for it. I got home and didn't have much time to get ready before I had to leave. I got ready fast and went. Half-way through the party I realized I hadn't cut the tags off of my new clothes. I'm so glad they weren't showing!! Anyway, the theme was 'Casino Night'. We were given a $20,000 chip and told to win as much as we could because the amount we won determined the order in which we did the gift exchange. The person who won the most would go last, which is good. My blackjack table ended up doing really, really well. I won $86,800. The 4 people at my table ended up being the last 4 in the gift exchange. The company provided the gifts, and they were awesome. I got a $100 Visa gift card, along with a $400 bonus. It was so much fun!

Blah...

Today was miserable. Jill called me while I was sitting in my car trying to warm it up before I left and told me that class was cancelled all day. I wish I would have known before I got up and got ready. At least I didn't try to drive to campus. They cancelled it because the roads were so icy. It got down to 21 degrees, and it felt like 10!! Anyway, I went crazy in my apartment because I couldn't go anywhere and I didn't have much to do. I was actually prepared to go to class today and take a test and turn in my paper. I wish I could have just gotten it over with. Instead we have to make up today on Tuesday, which was supposed to be one of our dead days. It's just prolonging my misery. The end of the semester is so close, but so far away. I'll be in Austin until the 21st because I have to work. Then I have to come back on the 4th to start working again. I'm trying to figure out what I'm going to do for New Year's Eve. If anyone has any suggestions I'm open!

I Hate Cold Weather!!!

This morning at 9:00 it was 50 degrees and it felt like 48 degrees.

This afternoon at 3:00 it was 31 degrees and it felt like 21 degrees!!

The cold weather sucks, but UT shut down from 2 pm to 10 am tomorrow because of the freezing rain, so I don't have to go to my last business law class. Yay!

Lotsa Stuff

This weekend was really good, with one exception.

On Friday afternoon my sister called me and told me that a guy I graduated with, Robby Martinez, was killed in Iraq on Thursday. He enlisted in the Marines right after we graduated. About 15 minutes before Casey called me I heard on the news that 10 Marines were killed in Iraq. It was even more sad when I realized I knew one of them.

I went to my church Christmas party on Friday night. The theme was 'Thrift Store Formal'. Everyone was wearing big, old, gawdy dresses. I wore a dress from the 60s that I wore for 'vintage day' during homecoming week during high school. We went to McDonald's for dinner and everyone there was blatantly staring at us. It was really funny because there were about 50 of us crowded in there. All the little kids were amazed and confused, along with most of the adults. Then we went roller skating. It was hilarious to see everyone roller skating in the hideous outfits they had on. I discovered that I skated better when I was a little kid than I do now. Anyway, after that we went to our college pastor's house and did a gift exchange. The rule for the gift was that it had to be something from your house. There were actually some pretty cool gifts. My gift got stolen twice, and I liked both of the ones that got stolen. I ended up with a half-dead plant. I watered it and put it in the window when I got home. It already looks better. So, that was my Friday.

On Saturday I studied all afternoon while turning on the Big XII Championship game every now and then. After we were winning 42-3 I quit turning it on. We ended up beating Colorado 70-3. That's absolutely ridiculous. At least we're going to the Rose Bowl!

On Satuday night I went out to eat with Anna, Madison, and Brandy. Then we watched Pride and Prejudice. I normally don't like movies like that, but it was really good. We decided that all guys should have to watch it and take notes ;)

Anyway, I went to church this morning and have been studying all afternoon. I only have one more week of class left and then a final on the 16th and 17th. Then I'm done with the semester and I'll officially be a senior!!

How Weird!

I just picked up my college ring. Didn't I just graduate high school?
